All ten Battle of Unity dramas are up! The prologue was released early back in August, but the other nine are all new and ready for reading. As usual, because of the speed with which they were done, there may be phrasing that I mix up after they've had a day or two to sink in and there are almost definitely typos. I almost always have an error or two with the name-tags when I'm doing this much at once; I do always advise that you listen along with the drama tracks!

Some things are getting added to some extra information pages, too. 😘

I've also added the short "interviews" done for meeting view count milestones for the Unit R groups; check those out under the BoU Opening Show prerelease materials in "Other Translations". I'll do the Unit A ones when they release too, of course!

Please remember: I don't translate the previews because not having the entire drama to work with gives me a hernia, so please sit tight for another 10 days until the CDs release!

Also, I have added a remark on the "Other Translations" page to note when the Autumn seasonal special video will be coming out, since that was announced recently.

To recap, currently, we're looking at:

• Cast gap 2koma on October 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th
• B's-LOG short story (ft. Iori, Yohei, and Aoi) on October 20th (Accompanying the release, I will un-password-lock the current month's story!)
• Battle of Unity Opening Show on October 23rd
• Autumn Team special contents on October 26th
• Paradox Live 5th Anniversary on November 6th

I also rearranged a few files so that some pages are now in the /other/ subdirectory; if you're using a direct link (from your history/bookmarks or Twitter) and you could have sworn there was a page there before, try adding adding /other/ into the url (ex: phanto.moe/paraneko -> phanto.moe/other/paraneko). I've added a note about this to my 404 page, but just in case, thought I'd announce it!

The song credits page has also been updated with the new songs' info, and the Concerts page has been updated to reflect the setlists for the 2Man Show performances, and will be updated again in small ways as the official digest videos are posted.

I'm still chugging away at some boring under the hood stuff with the site, so don't mind it if you see things that are a little inconsistent across pages.

Also, it being Allen's birthday: his birthday voice message is up!

And, finally: an anonymous user got in touch and hooked me up with rips of the special Animate tokuten (store bonus) for the LIVE album, containing voice messages from the original 14 characters reflecting on the first round! Check my translations of that out under the "Other Misc. Stuff" in Other Translations!

First: All of the Unit R gap comics are up! The other five are coming out next month, so they'll follow when they come out.

Second: So I can stop explaining myself and can easily link it to people, I've added a page (found in the "Meta, Explanations and Other Observations" heading on the "Other Trivia" page) to explain why I use he/him for Aoi. Just remember that I am one person interpreting a canon, so you don't have to agree with me, I just wanted a concrete place that I could link people to instead of having to explain myself over and over, lol.

Third: There's an on-site search now! It doesn't appear on pages that don't have the full menu (so on novel pages, song translations, and drama tracks), but those pages are indexed in it as well. Use it to help you find information (or just every instance of a given character's name showing up, or every instance of the word "fuck" in my translations, idc, I'm not your dad) across the site.

Also, unrelatedly, I am currently gathering responses on a brief, not-too-deep survey about my translations, fan translation, and Paradox Live! It'd be cool if you filled it out.

Also, the short story from this month's B's-LOG is up! It's in "Magazines", and since these are going to be an ongoing thing, for right now I've decided to put them up at the top of the page. Note that until the next issue comes out, you will be required to input a password that's set up to check if you own a copy of the magazine (the ebook works). I do this because I've seen fantranslators been asked by Japanese fans to take translations of current magazine content down, so I figure that the least I can do is delay the release until it's not the most recent issue on sale.

New month means all the old updates are moved to the Past Updates page and the August 2024 Twitter archive is up!

ETA: Also, the newly-posted isolated group art of the Battle of Unity key art has been added to the gallery!

Second of all, and much bigger (and far nerdier): I've done a lot of tweaks under the hood on the site!

• First and most obvious is the addition of a style switcher, which you will notice just below the banner, allowing for every page (unless I missed one) to be viewed in light mode or dark mode! This should persist across pages; if you use dark mode and notice it resetting to light, it's because it's a slightly janky workaround, and the host I use has some cacheing weirdness. You can either manually tap dark mode and set it instantly, or just wait for it to load and get cached whereupon it should switch to dark mode automatically.
  I'm not a dark mode user as a rule (sorry, it just plain hurts my eyes on desktop), so I welcome feedback on readability/accessibility!
• Second of all is some general web design polish; some slight layout tweaks in menus for better visual hierarchy, and some adjustment to contrast in small ways around the site. The general user probably will not notice this, but the changes are there!
• This is almost entirely for my own benefit, but I've redone the side menu; it's now been consolidated into one menu (no more top navbar) and now uses JavaScript as a workaround for client-end includes, which means I can edit a single file and the menu on every page on the site will update. (This is usually very easy, but Neocities doesn't support the way I usually do this server-side with PHP, so this is a bit hacked together with duct tape and a dream.) This means I've been able to rearrange and rename a few menu options for better clarity, and in future if I want to make another section in the sidebar, it will be way easier!
• Some other minor tweaks, like fixing how the menu displays on mobile (again, this has been made much easier by the above switch) and renaming a couple minor pages now that I can change them with one file instead of 200.

Hopefully this all helps to make the Phanto.MOE experience better for everyone.

Also, belatedly announced as always, but Reo's birthday mini-drama was uploaded day-of on the 2024 BD mini-dramas page! (I generally have them up within like 15 minutes, so even if I haven't announced it, you can always check the BD page to see if I've got it up.)

Also, a translation for the new BAE song dropped today (Vroom×3) has been added to the song translations, and the music page has been updated to reflect its MV release and creator credits.

April-May 2024

There's some other stuff I probably need to get to, so if you can think of anything I've missed and that I should get around to, feel free to drop me a line on a Twitter or via Retrospring!

Today's additions are Ryu's birthday mini voice drama and a page for this year's April Fools' joke, Paraneko! You'll find a link to both the birthday mini-dramas and the April Fools' page on the "other translations" page! There are a few things I still need to finish up for the Paraneko page but it should be done pretty quick.

Also did some tweaking and recoding of the gallery page (again), so now it allows for multiple filters to be applied at once. Fancy.

I will be doing translations of the ANTHEM songs once they go up! But I'mma be real with you, dawg, there's not really a chance in hell that I'm going to translate the last run of anime-excusive songs any time soon, on virtue of the fact that I prefer thinking about things that don't make me angry. Never say never, but chances are grim for the time being.

Also updated the Stageplay page to reflect Stagefes 23-24 and the news of the new live show, tweaked some info on the Reading Order page (nothing important, just finally updated for REVOLUTION results, haha). Planning to add the anime-exclusive songs/LPs to the music listing and CD pages, just because I feel like I probably should. For completion's sake, if nothing else.

Woof. Let it just be on the record that I... profoundly disagree with many of the choices the anime made, lol. It is what it is.

With Dongha, this now means that this entire set of birthday illustrations is done! We'll have to see on the 24th what, if any, campaign the franchise will be doing for the next rotation of birthdays.

I am very behind on menpas right now, but I am trying to keep a list of which ones I still need to do. Please be patient. I have a day job and that day job takes a lot out of me when menpas are already probably my least favorite thing to translate, so they will be forthcoming, I just... there's so many this month. There's so many and so many tweets. There is so much to translate. Send help. (I'm kidding, probably.)

Counting down to the release of REVOLUTION and trying to get everything I can get sorted ahead of time sorted, haha. It's gonna be a long day for me but I'm very excited!!

Furthermore, it's October now, so the B's Log interview from the October 2023 issue is no longer password locked, as promised!

Also, those with access to it (and in the case that Twitter finally eats shit for real), Phanto.MOE is now on BlueSky at @phanto.moe! At the moment I will just be crossposting announcements about site updates (I am not insane enough to try and crosspost all tweet translations), but that is now a place where you can find updates and information about my translations.

I've been debating switching hosting services to something a little more robust (and, more importantly, a service that supports server-end includes...), especially as the anime draws nearer, but that's a matter that's -- again -- entirely on my end. Just a heads up!

Also added a note about the October 2023 issue of Animedia, which is featuring Paradox Live: The Animation, and a note about the new character profiles that have been added to the anime's site on the page about the anime!

• Yuto's birthday art added to the gallery page!
• The Road to Legend Winning Manifestos have been added! Translations for these short videos can be found under Other Translations!

• Shiki's birthday art and the new anime team visuals have been added to the gallery page!
• A note about said new visuals has been added to the anime page.
• I added a quick note about the two recurring named cats, Luna and Kurobuchi Maou DX, to the "Glossary" page, under 'People & Entities'! I figured I should add them because I have seen some confusion about which cat is which.
• And, the biggest one: the character schedules have been added! They are under Other Translations! These include both the original schedules posted in 2020 for the original four teams, and the updated schedules posted in 2022 for all main eight groups.

Still working on some other stuff (the character schedules are about ~30% done).

I will be working on new translations of extra material soon, but right now this stuff is a lot less work, so bear with me! My current to-do list, in no particular order, is to continue working on the Merch page; to expand the manga page with full chapter summaries; and to translate the character schedules from both the Fan Book and social media.

Also: new illustration added to the official art gallery, under follower milestones; this one is for 10k followers on the official English Facebook page!

Also-also: I've added the Favorite Character Sorter and Favorite Song Picker, since I figure these are resources that people generally like having on-hand. These are both located on the Other Stuff page under the 'Other' heading, since they're not translations but they may be useful or entertaining!

Some pages (merch, magazines, other translations) are a little bit empty now, but they should hopefully provide at least some useful information, even if that information is "I plan to write more about this as it becomes feasible".

Some pages are relatively straightforward in terms of information, but for some -- especially the anime and mobile game pages -- they will, in future, become far more robust mini-directories as more about these respective adaptations comes to be known.
From the jump, though, some notes:

• All of my drama and novel translations, and all of my and Carp's song translations, are live! All of our social media translations (Twitter and Paratora) are mirrored, as well.
• Every character profile is complete and features extra information where that information is canonically available, and the character index includes the short blurbs about the units as presented on the official site.
• The official art gallery, while not complete, is fully functional. Do take a minute to let the thumbnails load, though!
• The CDs page lists a brief summary of the drama tracks (where relevant) and includes full track listings and the results of the CDs that had voting rounds.
• The Glossary page defines not just terms, but useful lists of locations and characters and entities who do not have full profiles!
• The Music page provides an overview of every song, its composers, and the release date of its MV (where applicable)!
• And more!
