Good morning! And happy new year! Right now, my greatest pleasure is eating the mochi we worked so hard to make as a family at the end of last year! As for soup, whether I should make classic ozoni, savory grilled seaweed, or sweet red bean... it's a tough decision, so I think for the boys' sake, I'll make all three and give them the best start possible to a new year!

Esteemed worms: allow me to ask, how are you spending your New Year's holiday? For my part, just earlier I was asked to play chess against bocchama; but even on the board, I am ever at the mercy of bocchama's boundless talent and aptitude.
I can think of no better way that I could spend a holiday than having the honor to witness bocchama pondering his next move, face awash with frustration but at the same time clearly enjoying himself.

When accounting for nutritional balance, a diet consisting only of mochi is not recommended; however, I will go and buy some more. It seems I will be grilling more mochi when I return from shopping.

Introducing: Chicken Breast and Mochi Stamina Dish with Grated Radish and Ponzu! πͺ
[Ingredients]
Mochi - 1 cake
Chicken breast (skinless) - 150g
Grated daikon radish - To taste
Shiso - 2-3 leaves
Garlic - 1 clove
Ponzu sauce - 2 tablespoons
Olive oil - 1 teaspoon
Salt and Pepper - To taste

[Instructions]
1. Cut the mochi into 1cm cubes, slice the chicken into bite-size pieces, thinly slice the garlic, and shred the shiso leaves.
2. Heat the oil and garlic in a frying pan. Once fragrant, add chicken and cook.
3. Once the chicken changes color, add the mochi.
The key is to cook it over medium heat until the surface of the mochi is crispy while the inside of the mochi softens!

4. Dispose of excess oil, drizzle with ponzu sauce, and toss to coat evenly.
5. Plate the dish, top with drained grated daikon and shiso, and it's done!
You can enjoy the satisfying chew of mochi, while the ponzu and the grated daikon keep it light and refreshing! It's perfect for fueling up before a workout πͺ

I thought I was having sleep paralysis. But it turned out that Ryu-kun had just piled up all of the blankets and cushions in the room on top of me so that I didn't catch a cold.
